Hammered down to even-money at post time, the Randy Copley-trained and Redmond Doucet-driven Intended Royalty ($4.10) was a strong, front-end winner at Inverness Raceway on Sunday (July 23), as the six-year-old No Pan Intended gelding captured the $1,100 Winners Over Pace (Race 8) by open lengths in 1:58.2.

Owned by Randy and Edward Copley (of Inverness, NS), Intended Royalty started from Post 5 and found himself overland at the :29.2 opening quarter and the :59.2 half-mile pole.

Intended Royalty took over command in the third panel, as he made the lead and clicked off three quarters in 1:28.4 while on top by three lengths. He and Doucet led by four and a half lengths at the head of the lane, as they cruised home with a :29.3 final quarter. The win time was 1:58.2 and the margin of victory was more than four lengths.

Maudail Mac (driven by Travis Maclean) finished second after having raced on the front early. Our Star (Walter Walker) raced from off the tempo to finish third, more than 10 lengths behind the victor.
