Siegelman Scores Five At Monticello
On Thursday afternoon (July 20), Austin Siegelman took advantage of the absence of two of the leading drivers at Monticello Raceway and scored five wins on the afternoon’s card.
Siegelman struck in the first race of the day, scoring with Sturgeon Seelster ($24.60) in 1:58.4. In the fourth race, he steered Literate Hanover ($5.20) to a wire-to-wire win for trainer William Mintz in 1:57.1.
He got back on track in race 10 and won the final three races of the day. Trys Little Prince ($3.30, 1:55.4) scored a pocket-sitting win in the tenth race, NY Whitesox ($3.50) won by three lengths in the fastest mile of the day (1:55.2) in race 11, and Siegelman’s final win of the day came in the last race with the aptly named Winning ($6.20), scoring by four lengths in 1:56.3.
The young Siegelman is currently in seventh place among dash-winning drivers with 36 wins thus far this year at Monticello Raceway.
