No Time For Talkin Is Business At Clinton

The Floyd Amos-trained and Ryan Holliday-driven No Time For Talkin ($8.50) only had time for winning Sunday (June 11) at Clinton Raceway, as the four-year-old Well Said mare captured the $4,100 featured dash (Race 9) in 1:59.3 during the afternoon card.

After having started from the rail over the ‘fast’ track, Holliday hustled his mount to the lead, and the duo went on to carve the speed in :30, 1:00.4 and 1:30.

No Time For Talkin was headed by Camedownfromheaven (driven by Greg Dustin) at the head of the lane, but the latter was on a break at the time.

When all was said and done, it was No Time For Talkin that came home with a :29.3 final quarter and posted a neck victory. Camdownfromheaven finished second and Mister Fantastic (Robert Sparling Jr.) finished third.

No Time For Talkin is owned by Julie Warring Amos of Bright, Ont.

The win was one of four Sunday afternoon victories for Holliday.

DAY AT THE RACES FUNDRAISERS PROVING TO BE A SUCCESS

The trackside fundraising program is once again proving to be a success at Clinton Raceway. Three weeks into the 15-week season, the respective groups have raised a combined $5,000 for their causes. It's a win/win, as the track benefits from new faces, and the groups are able to utilize the facility and fans to help raise the money they need.

This Sunday, St. Anne's Catholic Secondary School was track side with a BBQ, 50/50 and bake sale, raising money to put toward the athletics program at the Clinton-based high school during the nine-race card.

On track there was more action from Post 4, as it managed to win two races and show in four additional ones. It's been a hot number so far this season at Clinton.

Groves TV and Appliance was the Super Sunday Show sponsor, providing prizes for four lucky winners who entered their ballots from the live race program and the new bouncy ponies made their debut on track following the eighth race.

Live harness racing will continue at the Huron County oval for Father's Day on Sunday, June 18. Community Living will be the trackside fundraiser and fans can win delicious baked goods from Bartliff's Bakery and a BBQ prize package valued at $500. Details and events can be found at clintonraceway.com.
