Intended Royalty Wins At Inverness
The Randy Copley-trained and Walter Walker-driven Intended Royalty ($2.50) captured Inverness Raceway’s $1,100 top-class event on Sunday (June 11) with a 1:59.4, gate-to-wire victory while racing as the heavy favourite.
The duo started from Post 2 in the five-horse event. They cut the fractions in :29.4, 1:01 and 1:31 over the track which was rated ‘fast.’
Intended Royalty, a six-year-old No Pan Intended gelding, cruised home with a :28.4 final panel and nailed the wire three and a quarter lengths the best. Makes Me Stupid (driven by Alex MacQuarrie) and Havana Dream (Rodney Gillis) finishe second and third, respectively.
Intended Royalty has now won both of his east-coast assignments since being purchased earlier this month by trainer Randy Copley and Edward Copley, both of Inverness.
