Pacing For Charity Returns
Century Downs Racetrack and Casino has announced that it will host the second annual Pacing For Charity event next month on Sunday, June 25 featuring three top Canadian reinsman competing against Alberta's finest to raise awareness for charity.
Drivers Jody Jamieson and James MacDonald, who were participants in last year’s inaugural Pacing For Charity event, will be returning for the 2017 edition and will be also joined by Doug McNair.
The drivers will be available for an autograph session and fans can enjoy great food and a spectacular day at the races.
Jamieson, who will once again be racing for Autism Canada, noted that he is always game to help raise awareness for important causes.
“Our sport has given me more than just a living, it’s given me the chance to give back and the chance to help people and that’s one of the reasons why I like to go do these things,” Jamieson told Trot Insider. “To get to go to Calgary like we did last year and be asked back, for me it was a no-brainer, just a matter of getting the right date set up. There is nothing I love doing more than giving back and I think the people out there appreciate it. It’s nice to be included in the conversation with guys like James MacDonald and Doug McNair.”
In addition to raising awareness for autism, juvenile diabetes and breast cancer, overall charitable donations raised during last year's event were in excess of $8,000.
