Mister Big To Tara Hills Stud
Tara Hills Stud Farm has announced that Mister Big p, 2, 1:53, 3, 1:49.2, 4, 1:47.4 ($3,574,290) will be retired to stud at its Port Perry, Ont. farm next year.
A son of Grinfromeartoear from the Jate Lobell mare Worlds Sweetheart, Mister Big has been one of the most consistent and successful performers in the sport since his career began as a two-year-old in 2005. A multiple stakes winner at two and three, he has taken his game to a totally different level as an older performer.
As a four and/or five-year-old he was victorious in all the major races for his division including the Haughton Memorial (twice), Breeders Crown, Allerage (twice), Canadian Pacing Derby, US Pacing Championship final (twice), Quillen final and more. To date, Mister Big has paced 12 miles in 1:49 or lower and has standings of 31-17-8 in 73 career starts.
This year at six Mister Big is showing once again that he belongs with the absolute elite of standardbred pacers. With victories so far in the Dan Patch Memorial and Franklin elim, he’s bumped his earnings over $3.5 million. He is currently the fourth-richest pacer of all time.
A multiple Dan Patch and Nova Award winner, Mister Big is owned by Joe Muscara of Pennsylvania who is very pleased to see his star performer heading to Tara Hills Stud.
“I’m thrilled to have Mister Big stand alongside Mach Three, one of the top sires today, at Tara Hills. Mister Big has proven time and time again that he is one of the best to ever race and he doesn’t have anything left to prove.
“I hope Ontario breeders will be as excited as we are to have him standing in their province.”
