Marion Marauder Set To Return
There’s going to be plenty of star power on display during Friday morning’s qualifiers at Mohawk Racetrack.
Trotting Triple Crown winner Marion Marauder will resurface for trainer Paula Wellwood. The career winner of $1.9 million will start from Post 6 in Qualifier 2 with driver Roger Mayotte in tow.
The 11-time winner, who wintered in North Carolina at the Pinehurst Training Center, is owned by Jean Wellwood and her grandson, Devin Keeling.
Yaris Bayama will make her third qualifier of the season for trainer Stephane Larocque and driver Sylvain Filion. Last year’s OSS Super Final winner in the two-year-old filly pace division has drawn Post 2 in Qualifier 4.
Other notables in-to-go on Friday morning are last year’s William Wellwood Memorial Trot winner, Seven And Seven, and last year’s OSS Super Final champ from the two-year-old colt and gelding trotting division, Mass Production. That colt debuted last week without trotting hopples, but a break has earned him a trip back to the qualifiers where he’s scheduled to be re-rigged with the trotting hopples.
