Chaplaincy Announces Summer Events
The Race Track Chaplaincy of Canada has announced several events of interest in the coming two weeks for the racing community.
On May 23 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Nassagaweya Community Center, 2005 Cameron Drive in Brookville, there will be a memorial service to honour the memory of Donald MacDonald, who passed on April 29. MacDonald spent 15 years working in the racing industry in Ontario for Jonas Stutzman and Gregg McNair, and the memorial will be hosted by Amy Davis. He has been a great friend of racing and was also there to help those in need and always had a kind word for everyone. Chaplain Ken Carter will offer prayers.
On May 27, the Race Track Chaplaincy will host its first barbeque of the season at Classy Lane Stables for the annual baby race day at the farm on Concession 1 in Puslinch, Ont.
On May 31, the Chaplaincy's next barbeque will be at the First Line Training Center. The event will be hosted by Jonas and Ruth Stutzman at the farm at First Line and Arkell Road.
The Chaplaincy is selling raffle tickets on a signed and numbered Cam Fella print, donated by the Phillips/Armstrong family. The tickets are available from any member of the Race Track Chaplaincy committee at $5 per ticket and will be drawn on June 10 at Mohawk Racetrack in Campbellville, Ont. during the eliminations for the North America Cup.
