Two-Year-Olds Tackle 'Big M' Qualifiers
The Meadowlands Racetrack hosted a total of 14 qualifying dashes this morning, and two-year-olds of both sexes and gaits showed their stuff during the
first eight dashes.
The Chris Ryder-trained Rocknroll Hanover lass Put On A Show got the festivities underway with a two and a half-length victory for driver John Campbell in 1:57.2. The filly's final quarter time was clocked in :26.2.
Western Hanover filly Luxury Goods, another from the Chris Ryder camp, produced a one-length victory in Race 2, as pilot Tim Tetrick sent the filly from off the pace and stopped the clock in 1:58.
Fred And Ginger got into the act in Race 3, as trainer Kevin Lare guided his Real Artist colt to a two-length win in 1:56.
Rocknroll Hanover colt Rock N Awe, which is out of the same mare (Must See) as Well Said, put in its second-ever qualifier in Race 4. Trained by Steve Elliott and driven by Ron Pierce, Rock N Awe recorded a half-length victory in 1:58.
Conway Hall filly True Advantage produced an open-length victory in Race 5 for driver David Miller and trainer Jonas Czernyson. The filly stopped the clock in 2:00 and threw up a six and three-quarter-length margin of victory.
Cantab Hall filly Crown Laurel turned the trick for the duo of driver Michel Lachance and trainer Ron Gurfein in Race 6. The filly came from off the tempo and notched a one and a half-length victory in 2:01.
Driven by trainer Frank Antonacci, Cantab Hall colt Coco Lindy converted a pocket ride in Race 7, recording a one-length margin of victory in 1:57.4.
Classic Photo colt Classic Puzzle measured a nose victory in Race 8 for driver David Miller and trainer Jonas Czernyson. The mile was clocked in 2:00.3.
Other winners during the card included 2007 O'Brien Award winner Windsong Espoir (1:56.4), Caviart Annie (1:56.4.), Dawns Legacy (1:53.2), Best Magic (1:54) and Courser Hanover (1:55).
