Solid Debut For Nameisonthehalter
Multiple stakes winner Nameisonthehalter made his three-year-old debut in grand fashion by capturing the $1,100 winners over featured pace on the season opening card at Northside Downs.
In rein to trainer-owner Lawrence Snow, the three-year-old son of Brandons Cowboy powered to the front over early leader Its Harrys Turn (Harold Leblanc Jr.) and landed on top by the 1:00.1 half. J N J (Roddy Cory Hurley) applied pressure through a 1:31.1 third panel and started to fall back but managed a second wind to close ground. Nameisonthehalter held his position and tripped the timer in 2:01.1, three-quarters of a length the best. Blissfullsreaction (Brett Leblanc) completed the triactor.
Nameisonthehalter (Brandons Cowboy - Keltic Sarah) was an eight-time winner in 2016, boasting three Atlantic Sires Stakes victories as well as the Joe O'Brien and both the elim and final of the Maritime Breeders. His 8-4-1 summary gave him $46,101 in purses for his rookie campaign.
