Smith Joins Ontario Racing
Ontario Racing is pleased to announce that Ted Smith has accepted a two-year appointment to the role of programs appeal adjudicator.
Smith has an extensive horse racing background and a wealth of Breeding Program knowledge. In past roles, Smith has served as the president and CEO of Standardbred Canada, and the president of the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame for Thoroughbreds and Standardbreds. Smith has also advised on several committees across all three breeds, including the Ontario Racing Commission Rules Committee, the Standardbred Advisory Group, and the Quarter Horse Program Development Committee.
The role of the program appeals adjudicator is directly related to Ontario’s Racing mission of industry self-determination. The programs appeal adjudicator will hear Horse Improvement Program appeals and make final decisions on program appeals.
