RFP Process Moving Along
It has been announced that the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation has issued Request for Proposal documents to pre-qualified proponents that are interested in bidding on the OLG’s Central Gaming Bundle, which includes the slots-gaming area at Georgian Downs.
As a pair of reports explain, the successful bidder for the Central Gaming Bundle will be selected to run the day-to-day gaming operations at Casino Rama and at the OLG Slots at Georgian Downs. In addition, the successful bidder will have the chance to build a new gaming location in Collingwood or Wasaga Beach, depending on how the approval process plays out.
Given that the sensitive procurement process is ongoing, the OLG has conveyed that it will not divulge the names of the pre-qualified proponents, and it will not release any more updates on the process until the successful service provider is announced. The OLG has also stated that it expects to unveil the identity of the successful provider sometime during the spring of 2018.
Georgian Downs, located in Innisfil, Ont., just outside of Barrie, offers live Standardbred racing over its five-eighths-mile racing surface. Georgian Downs is located right off of Highway 400.
