Sakic Seelster Returns To Form

After making breaks in the Masters Trotting Series at Georgian Downs, Maple Leaf Trot eligible Sakic Seelster showed that he is back to business in this morning’s qualifying session at Mohawk Racetrack

With Mario Baillargeon in the bike for his brother, trainer Ben Baillargeon, Sakic Seelster was on top by the half in :58.4 and then bypassed three-quarters in 1:28. Using :27.1 final frame, the five-year-old son of Eager Seelster pulled away by 12 lengths to stop the clock in 1:55.1 in the ninth and final qualfier of the day. The winner of $167,500 this year has won half of his 18 races.

Returning from the Meadowlands, the four-year-old pacing mare A And Gs Confusion turned in a wire-to-wire score for the duo of trainer Casie Coleman and teamster Mark MacDonald. The millionaire daughter of Allamerican Native rolled through panels of :28, :56.1 and 1:24 with ease en route to a 1:52.1 score by three and a quarter lengths in Race 6. A And Gs Confusion remains eligible to the Roses Are Red Stakes and the Milton Stakes.

In two-year-old action, Panagler, a grey daughter of No Pan Intended, front-stepped her way to a one and a half length victory in 1:57.2 in her second outing for Bob McIntosh and driver Steve Condren.

Lend Rover also prevailed in his second attempt for McIntosh. With Randy Waples in the sulky, the homebred Angus Hall trotter headed straight to the front from the outside Post 10 and battled with Windsong Geant (Steve Condren) before holding off a rush from Northern Goddess (Ron Waples) to win in 2:05.1 by a half length.

Gracie Montana, a two-year-old Camluck filly driven by Sylvain Filion, rallied off second-over cover at the top of the stretch and came home in :27.4 to win her third qualifier in 1:58.3 by three-quarters of a length for trainer Tim Pinske.
