Thompson Following The 'Trotting Trail'

Clark Thompson, founder of Maine's Trotting Horse Heritage Trail and author of a book by the same name, will make a special presentation on Wednesday, July 15 highlighting the history of harness racing in the state

.

Maine's Trotting Horse Heritage Trail memorializes the state’s notable trotting horses, stock farms, racetracks, and owners and breeders of trotting horses from 1819 to 1893.

Thompson will discuss his book and the trail during a presentation at 6:30 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Community Church, 69 Winthrop St., Augusta.

The suggested donation to attend Thompson's Kennebec Historical Society-sponsored presentation is $2 for nonmembers. For more information, call 622-7718.
