In the first race of the 16-race card, Mcgibson, driven by Tetrick, left quickly from the five post and took the seven-horse field through splits of :27.4, :57.1 and 1:24.1 en route to the 1:51.2 decision. It was a career-best clocking for the Linda Toscano-trained daughter of Mccardle, who defeated Billie Bluechip and Breach The Gap.

“They were sprinting pretty good in the second-half of the race,” said Tetrick in the winner’s circle. “I just kept rolling.”

The tally was the sixth win in 11 starts for Mcgibson with two seconds and a third-place finish in 2009.

Trained and driven by Jimmy Takter, Federalreservenote scored for the second time in his career. The winning effort was achieved in wire-to-wire fashion in the first of four divisions of the Reynolds for two-year-old trotting colts and geldings.

Federalreservenote, part of a two-horse entry, left from post eight and quickly assumed the lead. He laid down fractions of :28.4, :58.4 and 1:28.1 before stepped home in :29.1 for the 1:57.2 score over Woody Marvel and Sailaway Dream. The Tom Ridge colt’s only other start was a 2:01.3 Pennsylvania Sire Stakes victory at The Meadows.

Takter also scored in the Reynolds for two-year-old colt and gelding trotters with Chimon, who was driven to victory by Dan Dube. Chimon stopped the clock in 1:59.2 en route to defeating Cimmaron Hall and Cassini Hall.

Jim Morrill, Jr., the leading driver at Pocono Downs, collected his first win of the evening in the eleventh race with Upfront Pattys Boy, who trotted to a 1:59.4 score in his division of the Reynolds. He gunned down Soul Man Hall and held off Morven in the winning effort.

“He surprised me,” said Morrill, Jr. afterwards. “I was hoping for a cheque after deciding to come second over. He wants to be a horse. I really like him.”

Mark Ford trains Upfront Pattys Boy, whose only other start was a 2:05 second-place finish at Goshen on July 2.

Grand Circuit Week continues Wednesday night with divisions of the three-year-old trotting colts and geldings and two-year-old pacing fillies.
