Rosecroft Owner Sues Jockey Club
According to a report in today’s Maryland Daily Record, Cloverleaf Enterprises Inc., the Fort Washington based owner of Rosecroft Raceway, has filed a $20-million
lawsuit against multiple parties for breach of contract and tortuous interference with contract.
The bankrupt owner of Rosecroft Raceway, is suing the Maryland Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association, the Maryland Jockey Club and 15 other defendants for interfering with Rosecroft’s simulcast agreement with tracks owned and operated by Churchill and Magna.
Rosecroft has continued to offer simulcast wagering even though the track hasn’t featured live racing since last year. The simulcast wagering revenues are the only form of gambling revenue for Rosecroft Raceway.
