After a brief illness, longtime owner and harness racing fan Chloris 'Pug' Heenan of Cobourg, Ont. passed away at Northumberland Hills Hospital on September 27, 2017 at the age of 100.

Beloved wife of the late Jack Heenan. Loving mother of Donna Heenan, and Debbie Bird (Barry).

Cherished Nan of Brent Hasson (Lisa), Shauna Hasson-Donaldson (Jamie) and Brook Hasson (Carolyn). Proud Great Nanny of Carter, Landon, Tanner, Brooklyn, Tye and Ava. Daughter of the late Percy Gauen and Lena (nee Robertson). Predeceased by her brother Clifford, sister Iva Boyle and brother Douglas.

With her husband Jack, who served for several years on the Kawartha Downs board of directors, Pug owned horses along with Debbie and Barry. She celebrated her 100th birthday at Kawartha Downs this past July with family and many friends.

Pug lived her life to the fullest right to the end, attending the races at Kawartha Downs as recently as this past Saturday night (September 23). She was still playing bridge and golfed into her nineties.

Pug loved her family, her wonderful friends and Barry and Debbie's dog Hobie. She always told her family, "When my time comes, don't cry for me. I've had a full and wonderful life. What more could I ask for?"

A Celebration Of Pug's Life will be held in the MacCoubrey Funeral Home Reception Centre, 30 King St. E., Cobourg on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to the Ontario Standardbred Adoption Society, Trinity United Church, Canadian Red Cross or a charity of choice.
