‘Big M’ Grand Circuit Stakes Notes

The penultimate card of the Meadowlands Racetrack’s championship meet will take place this weekend, as the track will be conducting live cards on Friday and Saturday.

Post time for each card will be at 7:15 p.m.

Friday's features will be the elimination races for the championship stakes for the freshman trotting fillies and colts, the Jim Doherty and Peter Haughton Memorials. The finals for those stakes will be part of the track’s August 3 Hambletonian card.

Twenty-four fillies were declared for the Doherty, which has required a trio of eight-filly eliminations. The Haughton drew 17 precocious males, and the entrants have been split into a pair of eliminations.

The track will feature Hambletonian eliminations on Saturday, as a total of 19 three-year-old trotting fillies have been entered.

The WN Reynolds stakes for three-year-old males is the very last prep for the upcoming Hambletonian and a dozen have entered the fray for that contest.

Last, but certainly not least, is the $60,000 final for the Golden Receiver FFA pace.
