It is with sadness that the family of Howard Gillies announces his death on Thursday, May 21, 2009 at the age of 83
.
Howard was an employee of Barrie Raceway from 1973 to 2003 as the official timer and a standardbred horse owner. His love of the sport of harness racing kept him busy in his retirement years and he was a regular at Georgian Downs.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 26 at 2 p.m. at the McMillan & Jack Funeral Home in Dundalk, Ontario. Visitation will be taking place at 1 p.m.
