Windrush Stable is holding its annual silent auction fundraiser and BBQ on Saturday, June 13, 2009.
Windrush is asking for any donations and attendees to help the organization reach its goals, therefore ensuring it will be able to continue with its efforts. Windrush Stable offers a program run by a lady and her small army of dedicated volunteers.
Coupe de Ville, HHYF's Harness Racing Youth League star pupil, has been retired and has returned to Canada and Winter Davies.
'Coupe' got bored with being retired and has embarked on yet another new career. He is helping handicapped children at Windrush Stable. He is a very special horse there, as he not only teaches the little people to ride, but he will also be driven.
A generous person donated a harness and two-seater jog cart to further Windrush's endeavour. The resurfacing of the track will begin as soon as the weather permits.
Windrush is asking for some of the local drivers and\or trainers to donate an hour or so of their time to guide these children. It would be in the early afternoon. If enough volunteers step forward it would be only once a month or less. Windrush is asking all that are available to join Blair Burgess and Ron Waples in this very rewarding activity.
