With the well-documented cases of strangles at Truro Raceway, the Maritime Provinces Harness Racing Commission is asking horse owners to be on
the lookout for the highly contagious bacterial respiratory infection.
"We're concerned because horses do tend to move from track to track," Paul Hogan, director of Racing for the MPHRC, was quoted as saying in an article by cbcnews.ca.
