The Raceway at the Western Fair District is gearing up for a pair of special race programs this holiday season.
The track’s annual Boxing Day card, on December 26, is always a popular one at the London oval, and there is lots happening this year, including a Mystery Prize Bag contest (one will contain a $250 betting voucher) and prize draws after each race throughout the day.
When you purchase your program that day you could also receive a mystery betting voucher in your program, and kids in attendance will receive a harness racing activity book.
First post for the Boxing Day program is 1:15 p.m. Live racing will also take place on New Year’s Eve at WFD with first post at 8:05 p.m.
The Old Lang Syne Trot and Pace will be back again this year. The races will be for $5,000 claimers and the eight oldest horses to enter in each class will be accepted. They will be carded as the final two races of 2013 at WFD and, following the last race, fans will be invited to stay and ring in the New Year.
Fans can also fill out a ballot for prize draws after each race, a special edition of Deal or No Deal and a Harness Racing Trivia contest. On the wagering side, the early Pick-4 pool will be guaranteed at $5,000, while the guarantee on the late Pick-4 that night will be bumped up to $7,500.
Fans are reminded that WFD has also changed the first-race post time for its Monday, December 23 and 30 programs, as first post for both days is now 4:35 p.m.
