Al Colquhoun Passes

Longtime harness racing industry participant Al Colquhoun passed away at his Guelph, Ont. home on October 2, 2020 surrounded by family, love and caring at the age of 92.

In addition to a 30-year teaching career in Moncton, Ancaster and Listowel, Al was an active participant in the sport of harness racing. Over a span of seven decades he enjoyed owning, breeding, training and driving.

Survived by his wife of 63 years, Jalna Sharpe Colquhoun, and their sons Paul (Mildred), Keith (Nathalie), Sean (Carol) and Murray (Donna); by their grandchildren April, Ken, Veronica, Charlotte, Jacob, Laura, Abby, Ryan, Sydney and Claire; and their great-grandchildren Samantha, Benjamin and Ella; and by many nieces and nephews. Also by brother Don (Marie) and sister Jean (Ivan Fischer).

Al will be remembered for his boyish smile, quick wit, and eternal optimism.
