Trainers and owners of eligible Ontario Sires Stakes horses are reminded that the entry day for the upcoming OSS Gold and Grassroots Consolations is fast approaching.
Any horse that is qualified under the OSS rules and started in at least one Gold or one Grassroots event during the 2013 season is eligible to be entered as long as no purse money was earned in the Gold Super Finals or Grassroots Championships. From the horses that enter, the top point earners will be drawn.
For the Gold Consolation, the Top 9 point earners for each age/sex/gait category will be drawn.
Since there are two Grassroots Consolations for each age/sex/gait category, the Top 16 point earners that are entered will be drawn into the Grassroots Consolations.
The top point earners are listed on the OSS website (ontariosiresstakes.com).
Gold Consolations:
• Grand River Raceway on Sunday, October 13
• Box closes on Wednesday, October 9 at 10:00 a.m.
Grassroots Consolations for three-year-olds:
• The Raceway at the Western Fair District on Monday, October 14
• Box closes on Wednesday, October 9 at 12:00 p.m.
Grassroots Consolations for two-year-olds:
• The Raceway at the Western Fair District on Tuesday, October 15
• Box closes on Thursday, October 10 at 12:00 p.m.
