Paul Bernard Passes

Longtime Standardbred owner Paul Bernard of Saint-Hyacinthe, Que. passed away on October 2, 2021 at the age of 96.

Paul worked for almost 50 years at the head of his company Encans De La Ferme.

Husband of the late Régine Quintal and father of the late Michel Bernard. He is survived by his children: Nicole, Alain, Claire, Denise (Michel Labrie), France (Jacques Perreault), Pierre and Dominique, all of Saint-Hyacinthe. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Patrick, Nathalie, Alexandre, Caroline, Samuel, Audrey, Roxane, Antoine and Émile, his 10 great-grandchildren, his sisters: Jeanne D'Arc (late Maurice Saint-Pierre ), Thérèse (François Charron) and Blandine (late Georges Petit), her nephews and nieces as well as many other relatives and friends.

The family will receive condolences on Thursday, Oct. 14 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Mongeau Funeral Home, 1115 rue Girouard Ouest, Saint-Hyacinthe, Québec, J2S 2Y9.

The family will receive condolences at Saint-Pie de Bagot Church on Friday, Oct. 15 at 10 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m., and burial in the same cemetery at noon.

Visits will be rotated to respect the maximum number of people allocated in the rooms and wearing a mask is compulsory.

Donations to the Quebec Heart and Stroke Foundation in Paul's memory would be appreciated.
