It has been announced that Ben Lindsey of Chillicothe, Ohio will be presented the 2019 Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association Outstanding Groom Award at the organization’s upcoming banquet.
Lindsey has worked for the Steve Carter Stables for over five years. His duties include caring for 10 hoses as well as performing maintenance at the Carter Stables.
Carter says Lindsey is his most important employee, stating, “Without Ben, my life would be impossible. Not only does he care for the horses, but he also jogs and trains them daily.” Carter has said that Lindsey has only missed two days of work in five years, and that was because he broke his arm and needed surgery.
The Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association and United States Trotting Association’s District 1 Annual Awards Banquet will take place on Saturday, January 18 at the Marriott Columbus University Area Hotel, 3100 Olentangy River Road, Columbus, OH 43220.
