Equine Career Night Announced

If you are interested in horses and possible career paths in the modern equine industry, then the annual Equine Career Night at the University of Guelph is for you.

The event will take place at the University of Guelph on March 7 between 7 and 9 p.m. The second-year students of the Bachelor of Bio-Resource Management, Equine Management degree program are working hard to prepare the event for fellow students and equine enthusiasts. The event will be a fantastic opportunity for equine professionals, students and employees to interact, learn from each other, and see the job opportunities in the complex industry.

Attendees will be able to mingle and ask questions to the professionals that will be displaying their business and/or profession around Peter Clark Hall, in the basement of the University Center.

If you are an equine professional and want to participate as an exhibitor, registration is open until February 28 by emailing [email protected]. As a bonus, there will also be a used-tack sale during the event. If you’re buying, there will be everything from saddles to harnesses and other various equipment. If you are interested in selling, book your booth before February 28 by emailing the same address: [email protected].

“I hope it will help me get a sense of what I would like to do with a degree that has so many, diverse career options,” said a first-year Equine Management student, who is looking forward to attending this year and helping to organize it next year.

The Bachelor of Bio-Resource Management four-year degree program is the only degree studying horses in Canada. This unique program emphasizes the science and business skills needed in today’s equine industry, including planning events like the Equine Career Night.
