Longtime harness racing industry participant Marcel Brouillard of St-Hyacinthe, Que. passed away peacefully on Dec. 31, 2023, surrounded by his family, two days short of his 84th birthday.
The family will be present at the St-Marcel church on Saturday, Jan. 27, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., to meet relatives and friends and receive expressions of sympathy.
The funeral will take place the same day at 2 p.m. in the St-Marcel church. His ashes will be buried in the parish cemetery at a later date.
Mr. Brouillard leaves behind those he loved: Claudette and Gisèle, his children: Lyne, Gilles (Élisabeth), Julie (Yvan) and Maryse (Dominic), 12 grandchildren and their spouses, seven great-grandsons, his brothers and sisters, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and many other relatives and friends.
The family extends appreciation to the staff of the 11th floor of care and medicine of the Honoré Mercier hospital centre in St-Hyacinthe.
In his memory, donations to the Héma-Québec Foundation would be appreciated.

La famille sera présente à l’église de St-Marcel le samedi 27 janvier, de 9h30 à 13h30, pour rencontrer parents et amis et recevoir les marques de sympathie.
Les funérailles auront lieu le jour même à 14h en l’église de St-Marcel. Les cendres seront inhumées au cimetière paroissial à une date ultérieure.
M. Brouillard laisse dans le deuil ceux et celles qu’il aimait : Claudette et Gisèle, ses enfants : Lyne, Gilles (Élisabeth), Julie (Yvan) et Maryse (Dominic). Ses 12 petits-enfants et leurs conjoints (es), Ses 7 arrière-petits-fils, ses frères et sœurs, beaux-frères et belles-sœurs, et de nombreux autres parents et amis.
