The 2012 season opener at Canada's largest racetrack has been delayed after Alberta Downs has been forced to cancel its Saturday and Sunday cards
.
The one-mile oval at Lacombe, Alta. has cancelled both Saturday and Sunday cards due to inclement weather conditions.
Live harness racing is slated to resume next weekend. Alberta Downs race office would like to inform horsemen that entries will close on Tuesday, April 17 for both Saturday, April 21 and Sunday, April 22.
The race office would also like to remind horsemen that all stake payments should be made to Standardbred Canada postmarked no later than April 16.
