On Saturday, November 15, Northlands Park will be putting on 'Standardbreds Forever,' a full day of promotions which will feature Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame stallion As Promised, a handicapping contest, and a stellar card of racing.
"This event has something for everyone. It's going to be a great day for the fans, bettors and horsemen. Northlands have made a huge effort in making this possible," said organizer Orianna Scheck.
"Were very excited to have As Promised at the track for the day. Everyone will have an opportunity to meet, pet and have a photo taken with the local Standardbred legend.
"The handicapping challenge will solely be on the live race card which will see the winners receive a total prize of $10,000. In addition, we will have each race sponsored with a blanket presented to the winning horses connections."
To top off the day, fans will see their champion As Promised reunited with his driver and trainer Keith Clark. The two will once again pair up and lead post parade for the last race of the card which will be the As Promised feature.
