Porthill Alf, the pride of the community of Porthill, PEI, will compete in the $2,500 feature tomorrow at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

"He feels great," owner Marvyn Webster told Harness Racing PEI. "His leg is looking good and he came out of the qualifier in fine shape."

The qualifier that Webster is referring to came on November 1 at CDP, where the eight-year-old Largo horse hit the wire first in a 2:04 mile.

"He drew [Post 8] against a very tough class of horses, but we're excited to have him back," said Webster, referring to Porthill Alf's start tomorrow, where he has been installed at early odds of 6-1 for Race 15.

First race post time for the 16-dash card is 1:00 p.m.

Longtime owner and driver Don Canning will be honoured in Race 4. Canning passed away after driving his three-year-old filly, Banana Split, to a third-place finish at CDP on September 18.

Banana Split will race in the Don Canning Memorial for new owner Carl Bagnall of Stratford. Members of the Canning family will be trackside for the post race ceremony.
