Glamour Boys To Yonkers For NYSS

The New York Sires Stakes rolled into Yonkers Raceway on Thursday night, with four divisions of the $233,863 Tuckahoe Pace for sophomore colts and geldings.

Corner Blitz, who was sent off as the 1-2 choice, celebrated the start of the NFL regular season with a 1:53 victory in his division for driver Yannick Gingras.

The son of Pro Bono Best chopped out panels of :27.4, 56.3 and 1:25.3 en route to the victory over Grab Your Keys and Bettor Sweet.

The Ed Hart trainee, who has posted three consecutive wins, won for the fifth time this season in 12 tries.

On The Brink and trainer/driver Pat Lachance rolled to a 1:54.2 score in his assignment defeating Capote and The Race Is One.

The Canadian-owned son of Dream Away races for partners Aaron Waxman, Duane Marfisi and Alan Alber. It was his second win of the campaign in 11 tries.

Final Curtain overcame an outside post to take his division in a time of 1:53.4 for driver Jim Morrill Jr. The son of Pro Bono Best prevailed over Four Starz Louie and Art Glass. Race favourite Share The Delight had to settle for a fourth-place finish.

Tracy Brainard conditions the eight-time winner for Bulletproof Enterprises of Boca Raton, Florida.

Bullville Powerful and driver Stephane Bouchard took advantage of a pole position start to take the final NYSS division in a time of 1:54.3. The heavily favoured son of Bettors Delight easily defeated Lislea Miles and Sailing Cruise in the $58,740 affair.

It was the ninth win of the season in 17 tries for Steve Crevani, who conditions the speedster for Crevani Farms of Bullville, New York.

New York Sires Stakes action continues at Yonkers Raceway tomorrow night with the $197,500 Jim Meagher Pace for two-year-old colts and geldings.
