The win streak of the undefeated trotter Enjoy The Caviar will have to be put on hold following a freak mishap prior to his scheduled start on Monday evening at Woodbine Racetrack.
“He stumbled going out of the paddock to warm up,” driver Mike Saftic told Trot Insider. “He went down to his knees and gouged his one knee pretty good. If he didn’t have the trotting hopples on, he probably would have bounced right up but he got tied up in them.”
Saftic, who was scheduled to drive the Joanne Dawson trainee in tonight’s ninth race didn’t feel the injury was a serious one.
Enjoy The Caviar was set to take aim at his 10th win in as many tries for Dawson and partner Holly Carr, but the streak will have to wait for at least another week.
