According to a report, horseman Eric Abbatiello is doing well enough that he has been moved out of intensive care.

The news comes from a report this morning by the Standardbred Breeders and Owners Association of New Jersey.

The SBOA of New Jersey report states that it appears that Abbatiello's spleen has stopped bleeding and will not have to be removed.

He had been rushed to Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune, New Jersey, on Friday, October 24 after a multi-horse spill in Race 13 at Freehold Raceway.

Among his injuries were four broken ribs, punctured lung, concussion and broken shoulder.

He is expected to be sidelined at least six months.
