Euchred made every pole a winning one in the Winners Over Pace at Inverness Raceway on Wednesday (Sept. 6) evening.
Walter Walker drove his trainee in the feature pace to collect the winner's share of the $1,800 purse. Euchred posted panels in :28.3, :57.3 and 1:28.1 before fending off a late charge from Jj Scarlett (Donald Gillis) to win by three-quarters of a length in 1:58.1. Eastcoast Invader (Monica Sutherland) finished third.
Kayla Habicht Walker owns the 11-year-old gelded son of Shadow Play and the Camluck mare Tipsy Taters. Euchred is a three-time winner this season with 79 career victories. He has $162,819 earned in his career. He paid $6.50 to win.
As the final Wednesday night card of the meet, live harness racing at Inverness Raceway continues on Sunday afternoons through the end of October.
