With multiple winning tickets purchased for Mohawk Racetrack's Jackpot Hi-5 on Friday night (September 29), the carryover expanded to $784,762 for tomorrow evening's wager.
The pocket-riding Maxim Seelster (3-1) edged out slight favourite Mattjestic Tempo (2-1) for a 1:53 victory in the Friday finale, leading a 2-4-5-8-1 winning combination that was rounded out by Kays Shadow (7-2), Jordies Hope (37-1) and Cayo Loco (12-1). A $1 Jackpot Hi-5 winning ticket returned $2,892.25.
Jody Jamieson drove the four-year-old Big Jim mare to the victory -- her third this year in 19 starts -- for trainer Rene Bourassa and M&S Racing Stable.
