Easy Lover Hanover Mows Them Down

Easy Lover Hanover sat last for most of the mile before unleashing a :26.3 final frame and mowing down rivals one by one in the lane.

Physicallyinclined, who was riding a three-race winning streak coming into the contest, laid down fractions of :26.2, :54.2 and 1:22.3, but he couldn’t fend off the hard-charging Easy Lover Hanover in the closing strides. Doug McNair angled him off the rail in the lane and swung to the outside before storming home to win by 1-1/4 lengths over Physicallyinclined in 1:50.1. Nirvana Seelster was third.

Ben Wallace trains the six-year-old son of Somebeachsomewhere-Easy Go Go for Brad Grant of Milton, Ont. The gelding won for the fifth time this season and for the 39th time in his career. The win pushed his lifetime earnings over $930,000.
