Four Brass Starz completed a training grand slam for Scott Forward when the pacer converted from the pocket to win the featured Preferred Handicap on Sunday afternoon at St. John's Racing & Entertainment Centre.
Driven by Shane Forward in the Sunday finale, Four Starz Brass followed his stablemate Major Venue -- with Scott Forward driving -- through fractions of :28.3, :58.1 and 1:29.4 before reeling him in and cruising on by for the 2:02.2 triumph. Lexilowguy and Walter Deering Jr. finished over four lengths behind in third. The six-year-old Four Starzzz Shark gelding notched his third win in a row for owner Carl Stafford of Conception Bay South, Nfld.
Scott Forward pupils Dustylane Wildbill ($19.90) and Gabbys Littleangel ($13.50) were also victorious during the eight-race card with their trainer between the wheels while stablemate Dusty Lane Zoe ($4.20) won with Shane Forward driving.
The leading conditioner at the Goulds, Nfld. raceway has won 17 races this year pushing his lifetime win total to 323.
