Ted Gewertz, Elmer Fannin, Robert Feldman and George Teague’s Wind Me Up was a wire-to-wire winner for driver Montrell Teague in Monday’s $18,000 Open Pace at Harrington Raceway in 1:54.

Sent off as the second choice behind heavily favoured As Bad As Thunder, who was bidding for his sixth straight win, Wind Me Up left alertly from the rail and assumed command which forced his rival to sit in the two hole to a quarter mile in :27.1. Wind Me Up, a George Teague trainee, then marched to the half mile in :57.3 and three-quarters in 1:26 before holding off a late charge from As Bad as Thunder to the wire for a narrow win. Bad Rusty finished third. Wind Me Up and As Bad As Thunder are familiar rivals and have finished 1-2 in four races this season at Harrington.

It was the third win of the year for Wind Me Up, a four-year-old son of Bettors Delight.

Montrell Teague and Tony Morgan each made two trips to victory lane on the card.
