No 'Dial' In Meadowlands Pace

Trainer Jim Campbell reported that three-year-old pacer Dial Or Nodial will miss the Meadowlands Pace because of a sore foot of undetermined origin

.

“The good news is that everything X-rayed good on him, but he’s on the shelf right now,” Campbell said. The horse is unable to do any work right now and Campbell is not able to put a date on a return to racing.

“We don’t know about a time frame,” he said. “He’s improved a lot since the North America Cup final [where he finished fifth], but it’s just something we’ve got to play by ear. For now, we’re going to take our time and do the right thing by him. It’s in his [right hind] foot, but nothing broken or anything like that. It’s probably a blood bruise underneath the sole of the foot.

“The main thing is that there is nothing broken and we are on a day-to-day basis. I hope we’re able to get him back.”

Dial Or Nodial, a two-time New Jersey Sire Stakes champion in addition to winning divisions of the Bluegrass and International Stallion stakes last year, is owned by Arlene Siegel and Jules Siegel.
