Road To The Hambo - Week 6

Blue Porsche once again heads the Road to the Hambletonian Top 10 list. Manofmanymissions, who raced last week, suffered a break and has settled into sixth on the

chart. Charlie De Vie, with an impressive victory, has hopped on board the Week Six list with the $445,474 Yonkers Trot on tap this coming Saturday. The Hambletonian, is four weeks from Saturday.

Road to the Hambletonian Top 10 - Week Six

1 - Blue Porsche – It’s been more than two weeks since his eye-catching win in the Goodtimes Stakes in 1:54.2 with a final quarter of :26.2. He's three-for-three at Mohawk Racetrack. His trainer, Blair Burgess, has entered Pegasus Blue Chip, another son of Glidemaster, his 2006 Triple Crown champion, in Saturday’s Yonkers Trot.

2 - Pastor Stephen – Took last week off after finishing a solid second in the Earl Beal, Jr. Memorial as the beaten favourite from Post 8. He will be making his first 'Big M' appearance since his Peter Haughton Memorial disqualification with Post 4 in a three-year-old Open at the Meadowlands on July 8.

3 - Broad Bahn – Took last week off after a third (1:53.1) in the Earl Beal, Jr. Memorial. He sports a mark of 1:54 at Pocono Downs. Fans will get a chance to get a good look at him from Post 2 in a three-year-old Open at the Big M on July 8.

4 - Charlie De Vie – Made it five-for-six this season with a noteworthy win in a three-year-old Open at the Big M in 1:54.2, where he cruised home in :27.3. He has won twice in 1:54. Tim Tetrick drove the NJSS division winner for trainer Chris Ryder.

5 - VC Chocoholic – Was on the sidelines last week after an interference break and seventh-place finish as the beaten favourite in the Dickerson Cup at Tioga Downs. A Goodtimes elimination winner in 1:55.3, VC Chocoholic has the rail in a three-year-old Open at the Big M on July 8 as trainer Trond Smedshammer’s top gun.

6 - Manofmanymissions – Broke while he was launching a late bid as the heavy favourite in a three-year-old Open on July 1. He had not raced in two weeks after having finished second in 1:53.2 against older opposition. He easily won his seasonal debut in NJSS in 1:55.2, but the Breeders Crown champ must regroup.

7 - Broadway Legs – Freshened up with no race last week. He was the beaten heavy favourite when he finished fifth (1:55.1) and didn’t fire against older horses on June 24. He had won his previous three starts this season all at the Big M. he will try again from Post 8 on July 1.

8 - Big Rigs – Did not resurface last week after a fourth in the Earl Beal, Jr. Memorial as the pacesetter. The stablemate to Bambino Hall won a PASS division at Chester Racetrack on Memorial Day in 1:55.

9 - Bambino Hall – The other half of the Kelly O’Donnell duo was given the week off after a seventh in the Earl Beal, Jr. Memorial. The PASS winner (Chester) took a mark of 1:53.4 at Pocono Downs on June 10. He is entered to contest Saturday’s Yonkers Trot.

10 - Whatever It Takes – Has now missed more than two weeks since being a fading first-over fifth in his Earl Beal, Jr. elimination. He upset Dejarmbro in the Empire Breeders Classic final at Vernon Downs in 1:54 for 'Team Orange Crush.'
