The betting public put a whole lot of ‘faith’ in the Casie Coleman-trained Alexis Faith in her pari-mutuel debut Monday evening at Mohawk Racetrack, and the rookie daughter of American Ideal produced an easy win.

With Louis Philippe Roy at the controls, Alexis Faith got away second before quarter-poling her way to the top in the backstretch. She cleared to the top without a tussle and proceeded to slice out middle split of :57.1 and 1:25.2. Her :29-second closing panel earned her the win by two lengths over Kendall Seelster in 1:54.2. Third prize went to Lady Grande.

West Wins Stable, Jim Fielding, Robert Darrow and Kevin McKinlay own the filly who was a $55,000 purchase from last year’s Lexington Select Yearling Sale. She’s the first foal out of the multiple stakes-winning mare, Cannae Cammie (1:50.2 - $546,928).
