More 'Buckeye Series' Action At Scioto

The popular Buckeye Stallion Series made a stop at Eldorado Scioto Downs on Tuesday night (July 14) for the third leg for three-year-old male and female trotters.

A total of nine divisions went to the post (five divisions for colts and geldings and four divisions for fillies).

It was a big night for owner Marion Beachy, who notched two wins with his geldings. Enforce The Law, by Triumphant Caviar and out of Shez Jailbait, was a winner with Ronnie Wrenn Jr. for trainer Joseph Kramp in 1:56.2. The gelding got away second and was shuffled to fourth only to come on and score by a neck. The other winner was Exhibit Class, by Triumphant Caviar and out of Classic Blaze. Ronnie Wrenn Jr. got the Sean Smithpeters-trained gelding away fourth and powered up three wide in the final turn to win by a neck in 1:56.1. The mile was the co-fastest of the night for the colts, 1:56.1.

The other fast mile was turned in by Breakout The Gold in 1:56.1 with Tyler Smith for Norm Parker. The Break The Bank K-Lady Sierra trotter is owned by Robert Key.

Rose Run Valor found the winner’s circle in 1:56.4 with Ryan Stahl for Eric Hamlet. The winner is sired by Uncle Peter and out of Donven Promise. The gelding is owned by David Van Dusen and Michael Osborne.

Luckey Stormin was placed the winner in 1:56.4 with owners and driver-trainer Josh Slater and Elpidio Bernardi Jr. when Gabbys Wild Child was disqualified for going inside pylons. The gelding is by Stormin Normand out of Fef Fef For Sure.

The fillies were led by Susie D, who had the fastest win in 1:55.3 with Jeremy Smith for Bryan Weaver. The Uncle Peter filly out of Minor Skirmish is owned by Donna Anderson was a winner by a head.

Muskingum, by Triumphant Caviar and out of Abbey Craig, was a winner in 1:57.2 for trainer-driver Sandy Beatty. The filly was eighth at the half, but circled the field to tally the victory by seven lengths. She is owned by Beatty along with Larry Riffe, William Johnson II and Ray Thacker Jr.

Lights Down Low, by Uncle Peter and out of Swing Anna Cash, was a winner for Tyler Smith and Trent Stohler in 1:57.2. She is owned by Trent Stohler Stable, and Tim and Benjamin Graber.

Lightning Belle was a winner in 1:58, in a wire to wire effort, with Ryan Stahl and Scott Cox. The daughter of Dejarmbro-Deborah Maroon is owned by G Peters.

Sires Uncle Peter and Triumphant Caviar each had three winners on the card.

The fourth leg for the three-year-old trotting fillies will take place on Wednesday, August 19 at MGM Northfield Park. The fourth leg for the three-year-old trotting colts and geldings is scheduled for Tuesday, August 25 at Eldorado Scioto Downs.

The next event in the Buckeye Stallion Series is the second leg for two-year-old trotting fillies, which is scheduled for tonight (Wednesday, July 15) at MGM Northfield Park.
