Recent Fan Hanover Stakes winner Western Silk headlines a list of 176 distaffers that are eligible to the eliminations for the Canadian Breeders

Championships, which will be contested this coming Friday (July 16) at Mohawk Racetrack in Campbellville, Ont.

Three-year-old lasses of both gaits will be taking to the track on the program, which is slated to get underway with a first-race post time of 7:30 p.m.

On Pepsi North America Cup Night, June 26, Western Silk, trained by Casie Coleman and driven by Mark MacDonald, was sent off as the 9-1 third choice in the Fan Hanover. Fancy Filly and Put On A Show took a boatload of money before the starting gate pulled away, but once the wings folded, it was all Western Silk, who made every pole a winning one and held on for a neck triumph in 1:50.1.
