Harry Terror Takes Tioga Feature

Harry Terror captured the $8,000 Open Handicap Pace at Tioga Downs on Saturday (July 11).

Jins Shark was the first out of the gate, but Harry Terror soon took over and took the field through early fractions of :27.3 and :56.3. Reggiano mounted a first-over challenge but stalled as Harry Terror led to three-quarters in 1:24.3.

Harry Terror went into cruise control as the field reached the stretch. Jins Shark made a great effort in deep stretch but fell short and settled for second as Harry Terror crossed the finish line first in 1:53. Kotare Yael N finished third.

Harry Terror is a six-year-old gelding by Western Terror. It was his fourth win of the season and his 20th victory overall. Wally Hennessey steered the $9.90 winner.

My Lindy Winner took the $8,000 Open Handicap Trot.

BJ Lorado went straight to the lead and led to the first quarter in :28.1 before decelerating towards a :57.1 half. My Lindy Winner made his move going first over up the backstretch, claiming command when passing three-quarters in 1:25.1.

My Lindy Winner started to open his margin as they made the turn for home. The last one with a chance was second-place finisher Beguin Dugoutier but My Lindy Winner was much the best and won going away in 1:54.1. BJ Lorado held on for third.

My Lindy Winner is five-year-old horse by Credit Winner. It was his third win this season and his 11th victory overall. Mike Merton drove the $3.20 winner.

Mike Merton drove four winners on the night. His other wins came with A Yankee Feeln ($5.30), Alwaysyourway ($6.10), and Just Don't Wait ($26.60).

Live racing returns to Tioga Downs on Sunday (July 12) with an 11-race card starting at 1 p.m. (EDT). The card will feature two divisions of the New York Sire Stakes for three-year-old pacing fillies.
