The winning streak is now three-in-a-row and counting for Sweetheart Dance, who captured Thursday’s $11,000 Fillies and Mares Open Pace at Northfield Park.

With Josh Sutton calling the shots, Sweetheart Dance found herself parked three-wide to the quarter pole in :27.2 before she eventually worked her way to the lead. Once she grabbed the top spot she proceeded to lead the field through middle panels of :56.1 and 1:24.3. A :29.1 closing quarter was more than enough for he to win by 1-1/4 lengths in 1:53.4. Power Everywhere was next best, with Eradikate taking home third prize.

Sent off as the 2-5 favourite, the Kent Sherman trainee won for the fourth time this season – and for the 16th time in her career – while pushing her lifetime earnings to $184,741. The five-year-old daughter of Yankee Cruiser-Somekindasweetypie is owned by Keith Pippi of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
