Horseplayers will have a lot of free cash to aim at with the introduction of a new harness wager
.
On Saturday, June 5, Meadowlands Racetrack and Yonkers Raceway will launch the Metro 6 Shooter, a pick six wager with $30,000 added to the net pool.
Offered every Saturday, the Metro 6 Shooter will feature races from both the Meadowlands and Yonkers as part of the sequence. It begins with the fourth race from the Meadowlands and will be offered as a $1 minimum wager. If nobody selects six winners, 25 percent of the net pool is paid out to tickets with the most winners selected correctly and 75 percent of the net pool will be carried over to the following Saturday.
"This is a truly great opportunity for all bettors," said Alex Dadoyan, assistant vice president of racing at Meadowlands Racetrack. "There is a significant amount of free money out there for the taking, as we essentially start the wager with a $30,000 carryover. It's great to see Yonkers Raceway and their horsemen dedicate money towards the bettors to help build up this exciting new harness wager."
Past performances for the Metro 6 Shooter will be available in live racing programs and online at MeadowlandsRacetrack.com. In addition, TrackMaster will supply free Platinum Past Performances and selections for the Metro 6 Shooter races each week. These will be available on the TrackMaster and Meadowlands web sites.
The Metro 6 Shooter will be held under New Jersey Racing Commission Rules, with a 20 percent takeout rate. A consolation payout will be in effect every Saturday, whether there are any correct six-of-six winning tickets or not. The Meadowlands Pick Six will no longer be offered on Saturday nights beginning June 5, but will continue on all other racing days.
