McDonald Trainees Win Three In A Row

Trainer Gary McDonald stole the spotlight for three consecutive races mid-card on Sunday evening at Rideau Carleton Raceway.

Trotter Luke But Dontouch ($6.60) and pacer Knockout Artist ($4.50) both scored their first victories of the season while pacing mare Cheap N Easy ($3.90) earned her ninth win from 15 starts in races six through eight. The McDonald trainees, who won by a combined 11-1/2 lengths, completed a driving grand slam for Brad Forward.

The Edwards, Ont. resident has sent out a total of 31 winners from his stable so far this season to rank second in the local trainer standings. McDonald has also cracked the nation's top 10 leaderboard with his 0.348 win percentage.
