After having recently said that he would jump at the chance to operate a gaming facility in the Hamilton area if it came up for bid, former Flamboro Downs owner Charles Juravinski has backed off his statement and fired a shot across the bow of the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. in the process

.

A report by the Hamilton Spectator has cited Juravinski as saying that the province may not having the easiest time getting a new partner to take the risk in running a gaming institution after what has transpiring in recent months with the slots-at-racetracks program.

“What kind of safeguards are there for private operators that this government or the next one or the one after that won’t do the same thing and put them out of business again?” Juravinski was quoted as saying.
