Leaving from the five post in the seven-horse field, Grain Of Truth was quickly taken to the front in the Tuesday assignment, getting to the open split in :27.2 before giving way to Celebrity Playboy. That foe led the group through middle splits of :57.2 and 1:25.4 with Grain Of Truth hot on his heels. The two trotters battled down the stretch with Schnittker taking to the inside to win by three-quarters of a length. Third went to Salutation Hanover.
In his three starts in 2010 at Pocono Downs, Grain Of Truth now has a pair of wins and a second-place finish. The nine-year-old Self Possessed gelding, who races for Charles and Giorgan Iannazzo of Tappan, NY, has stashed away more than $800,000 in his career.
